Women's Hockey Can't Hold On Against Panthers

WORCESTER, MA - On Friday, November 22nd the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team hosted the Plymouth State University Panthers for their first home MASCAC Conference game of the season. The AMCATS lost the game 2-1.

The AMCATS came out flying in the first period, getting an early jump on the Panthers with a goal from Freshman Camryn Beauvais just five minutes into the first period. Beauvais goal came with help from Jordyn Bleany. The remainder of the first period would go scoreless giving the AMCATS a 1-0 lead going into the second period.

Despite taking the early lead in the first period, the AMCATS would give up an early goal in the second period allowing the Panthers to tie the game up at one goal a piece. Almost four minutes later the Panthers would take the lead with a goal from Katie Porello making it a 2-1 game. Porellos goal would be the final goal of the evening, solidifying the loss for the AMCATS.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Camryn Beauvais scored her first career goal with the AMCATS. 
  • Megan Tegethoff stopped a season high of 36 saves in the effort against the Panthers.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, November 23rd where they will head to North Adams, MA to take on the Trailblazers of MCLA for a MASCAC matchup. Opening puck drop is set for 5:00pm.
