QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Framingham State Thursday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions fall to 2-3-0 on the season with the result while the Rams improve to 2-3-1 overall.
The two sides battled to a scoreless deadlock through 45 minutes of action with each team registering six first-half shots.
The visitors seized a 1-0 lead late in the match as Melanie Lucier netted her first collegiate goal in the 82nd minute.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with nine shots. Framingham State fired 15 shots on the night and owned a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks earned.
Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill.) paced the home team with four shots in the match, including a pair of shots on frame, while Sam Baston (Carver, Mass.) added two shot attempts.
Senior Sophia Fevola (Wellington, Fla.) made five saves in her fifth start of the season. Jasmine Arzu (Bronx, N.Y.) made her season debut, taking over between the posts for the final 17:38 and recording five saves.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene travels to Beantown to face Wentworth September 18.
