Third Seed Volleyball Advances to MASCAC Semifinals with 3-0 Win over Sixth Seed Mass. Maritime

Framingham, Mass. - The third seed Framingham State University volleyball team defeated sixth seed Mass. Maritime 3-0 in an opening round game of the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Championship this evening at Logan Gymnasium.

-Scores:  Framingham State 3, MMA 0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-15) 

-Records: #3 Framingham State (12-15), #6 Mass. Maritime (4-22) 

- Location: Logan Gymnasium Framingham, Mass.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams defeated the Buccaneers by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-15. 

  • The Rams were led on the attack by 13 kills from Natalie Reynolds. Reynolds connected for her 13 kills on 35 attempts with a .200 attack percentage. 

  • Hope Verhoeven added 11 kills on her 22 swings for a .409 attack percentage and added five digs. 

  • The Bucs were led by seven kills from Alanys Torres, while Gemma Geisler, Shayla Narodowg and Chloe Johnson added four kills apiece. Narodowg added 18 set assists, an ace and eight digs in the match. 

  • Audrey Manning paced the defensive effort with 11 digs, three service aces and three assists, while Marlo Stark added nine digs.  

UP NEXT: 

With the victory, the Rams advance to the MASCAC Tournament Semifinals on Thursday night where they will face second seed Bridgewater State in Bridgewater at 6 p.m.
