BRIDGEWATER, Mass. –  Westfield State baseball's eight-game winning streak was snapped, as Bridgewater State posted late rallies in both games to sweep a MASCAC doubleheader from the Owls, 7-6 in game 1, and 4-2 in game 2.

The Owls led 4-1 in game one, getting RBI singles from Brett Dooley and Nick Martin in the top of the fifth, but Bridgewater got all those runs back in the bottom half of the inning with a bases-loaded triple from Jay Wladkowski, and grabbed a 5-4 lead when Joey Molis drove in Wladkowski.

Westfield regained the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth, but the Bears tied it in the bottom half of the inning, and scored a walk-off win when Colin Josselyn tripled and Cam James followed with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.

Vincenzo Camera took the loss in relief for Westfield.

In the nightcap, Josselyn got the win on the mound, limiting Westfield to four hits and two runs while striking out eight in six innings of work. Tyler Dasilva-Medieros worked a scoreless seventh for the save.

Westfield got RBI singles from Brett Dooley in the third and Sean Moorhouse in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead.

Bridgewater grabbed the lead on an unusual 2-run sac fly to center with runners scoring from second and third in the fifth inning, and tacked on an insurance run in the sixth.

Starter Pat Jordan took the loss for the Owls.

Westfield is now 13-3 overall, 6-2 in the MASCAC.

The two teams meet again tomorrow at Hagan Field in Westfield in a pair of non-conference games.
