Salve Regina Secures 4-2 Victory Over Men's Soccer

Newport, R.I. – The Salve Regina men's soccer team emerged victorious with a 4-2 win against Framingham State on Tuesday afternoon at Toppa Field. 

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Emmet Schuele opened the scoring for Salve Regina in the 8th minute, assisted by Aiden Crean to give the home team a 1-0 lead. 

  • Jack Holt equalized for Framingham State at 28:02, scoring his first of two goals in the match, assisted by Kaio Santos Da Silva. 

  • Salve Regina reclaimed the lead before halftime. Luke Woodward scored in the 39th minute, assisted by Daniel Goba, and Joe Logue added another goal at 44:14, assisted by Danny Bond, making it 3-1 at the break. 

  • Holt found the net again for Framingham State at 60:32, with an assist from Brian Penney, cutting the deficit to 3-2. 

  • Salve Regina restored their two-goal advantage in the 80th minute through an own goal by Framingham State, sealing the 4-2 victory.

Shots: Salve Regina outshot Framingham State 21-7, with a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal. 

Saves: Framingham State's Michael Walker made 9 saves, while Salve Regina's goalkeepers combined for 3 saves. 

Corner Kicks: Salve Regina had a significant edge in corner kicks, 8-3.
