Men's Soccer Shutout in Non-League Tilt Against Baldwin Wallace

ERIE, Pa.—The Men's Soccer team wrapped up their season-opening road trip to the Herb Lauffer Tournament hosted by Penn State Behrend. Following the Trailblazers' loss to host Penn State Behrend on Saturday, they matched up with Baldwin Wallace University in the consolation game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Baldwin Wallace opened the scoring early in the first half, Mathew Skladany converted on a pass from Maguire Alden in the 4th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- In the 19th minute, Max Yakym doubled the Baldwin Wallace lead, with Skladany picking up the assist. Ten minutes later, Michael Giganti would knock home an Owen Huzicka pass to increase the lead to 3-0.
- Evan Scott would connect on an unassisted goal in the 34th minute, and it was 4-0 heading to halftime.
- Baldwin Wallace would add three goals in the second half with Owen Reyes (46th minute, assisted by Robbie Rochford and Mathew Skladany), Vincent Vukovic (67th minute, assisted by Yakym), and Brendan Waters (89th minute, assisted by Owen Huzicka) were all credited with goals.
- The Yellow Jackets held a decisive 27-5 shot advantage in the game, including a 17-1 mark on goal.
- Seth Warrick picked up the win for Baldwin Wallace, successfully converting on the Trailblazers' lone shot on the net. Oliver LeLacheur (Medford, MA) did collect one save in defeat for MCLA but absorbed the loss to fall to 0-1-0; Ryan Taylor (Plattsburgh, NY) made eight saves in relief of LeLacheur before giving way to Michael Harris for the final 12 minutes.

On Wednesday, MCLA will be back in action when they play host to Eastern Connecticut State for a non-conference matchup with the Warriors at Shewcraft Field. The teams will take the pitch for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
