Women’s Soccer falls to Bridgewater State on senior day, 3-0

North Adams, MA- Bridgewater State defeated MCLA 3-0 today in Women's soccer action at Shewcraft Field. The match was the final regular season contest for each team. With the win Bridgewater State improves to 10-5-2 (5-1-1 MASCAC) and awaits to see who its postseason opponent will be. The loss for MCLA ends its season with a 3-10-3 (0-6-1 MASCAC) mark.

The Bears struck in the 3rd minute as Skylar Conrad redirected an Eric Clancy shot with a header to beat Trailblazer goalkeeper Jillian Currier (Troy, NY) and give the visitors the early 1-0 lead.

Ten minutes later after a flurry of action in front of the MCLA net, an errant clearance attempt ricocheted off a Trailblazer leg and ended up in the back of the net giving Bridgewater State a 2-0 cushion.

Less than two minutes later, Michelle Belcher would score her 11th goal of the season and give the Bears all the insurance they would need.

The Trailblazers held Bridgewater State scoreless the rest of the way and though they steadily increased the time of possession spent in the offensive half, MCLA was unable to create any serious scoring threats.

Bridgewater State goalkeeper Logan Levesque made 1 save earning the win and improved to 10-4-1. Currier, who was tested throughout the match, made 20 stops but ends her season at 2-10-3.

The Bears outshot the Trailblazers 44-3 in the match and held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
