WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2022 season, 4-2, after falling behind early in the second half to the Framingham State University (FSU) Rams in a non-conference match on a picturesque Saturday night on the USJ Soccer Field in West Hartford.

Score: USJ 2, FSU 4
Records: USJ (1-1-0), FSU (1-0-1)
Location: USJ Soccer Field (West Hartford, Conn.)

QUOTABLE

"Disappointing result and a disappointing performance for large periods of the game. There were still a lot of positives though. We had a lot of good opportunities, but just did not put them away tonight. We missed a penalty shot and some other good chances. It was one of those games where we were off, and give Framingham credit, they fought hard. We didn't adjust quickly enough to start the second half. We will look to improve and be ready for conference play next week," said head coach Paul Wright.

NOTES

  • Anderson netted his 45th career goal Saturday night. He remains the all-time leading goal scorer in program history. It marked his first of the 2022 season after scoring 21 goals last season.
  • Tonight marked the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
  • Four goals allowed is the second-most goals surrendered in a match in program history, and the most since allowing five to Saint Joseph's (Me.) in the program's first season in September 2018.
