Men’s Basketball falls to Bryant & Stratton, 84-82

North Adams, MA- A Korey Greenland 3-point shot was just off the mark as time expired giving Bryant & Stratton (Albany) an 82-80 win over host MCLA at the Amsler Campus Center tonight in nonconference action. With the win the Bobcats improve to 6-3 while the Trailblazers fall to 4-6.

A Jamie Nurse layup would give MCLA their largest lead of the evening at 26-15 with just under ten minutes to play.

Bryant & Stratton chipped away over the next six minutes going on an 18-7 run which tied the game at 33-33 with just under four minutes to play.  The two teams would battle to the first half buzzer, but it would be a Detric Hearst 3-pointer in the final seconds that gave the Bobcats a 47-41 advantage going into the locker room.

The visitors would come out of the second half strong extending their lead to 62-48 just four minutes in.

MCLA would not go away however and after a 30-15 run capped off by a Mamadou Diallo layup with just over three minutes left, the Trailblazers would take an 78-77 lead. Unfortunately for the home team Charles Echos would retake the lead for the Bobcats on the next possession, 79-78. 

MCLA would tie the contest once more at 79-79 with a minute and a half left on a Nazier Carter free throw but the Trailblazers were forced to foul down the stretch as the Bobcats hung on 84-82.

Bryant & Stratton's Detric Hearst led all scorers with 34 points, while teammate Charles Echos finished with 17 points.

Noah Yearsley led MCLA with 23 points and Mamdou Diallo finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Korey Greenland chipped in 11 points and Jayden Mills finished with 10 points

Bryant & Stratton shot 46.4% from the field going just 4-17 from beyond the arc.

MCLA shot only 34.8% from the field including 6-23 from 3-point land.

The Bobcats will host Five Towns College tomorrow afternoon at 3pm. The Trailblazers are off until Sunday, December 18th when they will take on SUNY Brockport in Daytona Beach at the Mauro Panaggio Basketball Tournament.
