BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- The Buccaneers hosted Rhode Island College on Wednesday night in their final tuneup before conference play begins on Saturday. The Anchorwomen scored a goal in the first minute and never looked back, beating the Bucs by a final of 3-0.

How It Happened

The Anchorwomen scored the first goal of the game inside the first minute. An arrant shot in the box fell to the foot of Salome and she slotted the ball home in to the bottom right hand corner to make the score 1-0. Seven minutes later, RIC scored their second of the game in the eighth minute. Cary broke thrugh the Buccaneers defense and went on the break beating Kerecz to give the guests a 2-0 advantage. The score remained 2-0 at the halftime break.

In the second half, the Anchorwomen extended their lead to three goals in the 50th minute on a goal by Almeida from Salome. RIC led 3-0 with forty minutes to play. RIC pressure the remainder of the game and the Bucs got two shots on target in the second half but the score remained 3-0 and the Anchorwomen header back to Rhode Island with three points.

The Buccaneers will be back home for their next match against Westfield State on Saturday at 12pm to open up their MASCAC slate.
