WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The MCLA Women's Ice Hockey team traveled down route two for a non-conference matchup with their nearest geographical rival, the Wiliams College Ephs, at the Lansing Chapman Rink. Two MCLA goalies combined for 55 saves as Williams College peppered the MCLA net all night en route to an 8-0 win.

  • Series History: Williams College leads the all-time series 2-0, having won the team's first-ever meeting back on January 16th by a score of 7-0 in Williamstown.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Williams College took the lead early and didn't look back, scoring three goals in the opening frame before adding five more in the second period.
  • The first-period goals were scored by Zoe Rosenberg (at 2:37, assisted by Quinn Dawson and Katherine Kang), Celine Mayer (5:08, Chloe Noxon and Sophia Hoppe), and Leah Rubinshteyn (8:35, Dawson & Annie Gallagher).
  • The second-period goals were credited to Rubinshteyn (2:09, Katie Armstrong and Gallagher), Chloe Noxon (6:06, Lucie Bond), Gallaher (7:40, Dawson and Rubinshteyn), Gallagher (8:08, Rubinshteyn and Dawson), and a power play goal by Rubinshteyn (14:21, Claire Murphy and Dawson).
  • The Eph's Amanda Lackmann stopped all seven shots she faced to pick up her first win of the season, moving to 1-0-0. Two Trailblazers combined for 55 saves, with junior goalie Juliette Barney (Braintree, MA / Anna Maria College) stopping 31 shots and taking the loss to fall to 2-1-0, while sophomore goalie Kaitlyn O'Brien (Ridley Park, PA / Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) 24 of 25 shots in just over 30 minutes of relief work.
