Younger siblings often want to emulate their older counterparts when it comes to clothes, music, hairstyles and a lot more. For Kelly Downs, Worcester State women's lacrosse head coach and former Bridgewater State student-athlete, it was her older sister that introduced her to BSU and lead her down a path that would see her in the MASCAC as an athlete and eventually leading her own team.

It was only a few years ago that Mikayla Correia walked across the stage at Massachusetts Maritime Academy to receive her diploma and saw her women's lacrosse career for the Buccaneers come to an end. For many that may be the last time they step on campus, but it turned into the start of a new adventure for Correia.

Kim Cosenza grew up in a family surrounded by athletics. Her dad was a football and baseball coach, which meant she was immersed in it. Whether it directly influenced her future career path as she now leads the Fitchburg State field hockey team, Cosenza is using that opportunity to influence her female student-athletes on and off the field.

Kids idolize sports figures. They dream of one day becoming the next Tom Brady, Megan Rapinoe, Lebron James, or Candace Parker. Chris Harvey, Salem State men’s basketball coach, grew up in Somerville, Mass. and was just like many others his age looking up to his local superstars. Little did he know was that his dream of basketball greatness would one day become his future career.
