BUZZARDS BAY, MASS. – The Fisher College Women's Soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Massachusetts Maritime Academy this afternoon. The tie brings the Falcons to 2-7-2, while the Buccaneers now sit at 2-6-2 on the season.
The game's first goal came in the 42nd minute, with Massachusetts Maritime freshman Karah Deveau (Harwichport, Mass.) scoring off an assist from junior Brady Deschamps (Brewster, Mass.). Fisher responded quickly in the second half, with senior Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill.) converting a penalty kick at 43:53 to tie the game at 1-1.
Fisher's defense was anchored by senior goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.), who made 11 saves in a full 90 minutes of play. For Mass. Maritime, senior Reagan Kerecs (Tolland, Conn.) registered 2 saves in the entire match.
Both teams will be back in action soon. Fisher will travel to Maine Maritime on Thursday, October 17 for a 4:00 pm start, while Massachusetts Maritime will visit Bridgewater State University on October 19.
