Field Hockey Handles Worcester St., 9-0

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team handily defeated Worcester St., 9-0, in non-conference action Tuesday night at John Coughlin Memorial Field.

Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) led the charge with a hat-trick (19:54, 31:15, and 35:34). The senior added two assists as well, giving her eight points in the win.

Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) scored twice in the first six minutes of the contest, while Natalia Arjona (Ashland, Mass.)Sabrina Brunet (South Burlington, Vt.)Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.), and Taylor Stone (Old Saybrook, Conn.) all added solo tallies. 

Defensively, the Gulls only gave up two shots on goal helping Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.)Caroline Harvey (Dover, Mass.), and Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) combine for the shutout. Minickene played the first half, while DeMattia and Harvey backstopped the Gulls in the last two periods, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls move to 5-0 all-time versus Worcester St.
  • First hat-trick of Reissfelder's career.
  • Reissfelder's eight points is tied for third-most in a single game 
  • Swanson now has two or more goals in five games this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (9-3) travels on Sunday, October 13 to take on No. 1 Middlebury at 12 PM. Worcester State (3-8) welcomes conference opponent Salem St. on Saturday, October 12 for a 12 PM matchup.
