Big day from Caruso helps push the Lynx past Framingham State, 19-8

Lexington, MA- Behind Cal Caruso's 5 RBIs, the Lynx were able to push past the Rams of Framingham State with a final score of 19-8. The win moves Lesley to 5-6 on the year.

 

Inside the Game:

  • The scoring cam early and often for both sides, starting with a 3 run first inning for the Rams. 
  • Lesley responded quickly, with RBIs from James Brandon, Boone Scherer, Jake Samela and Drew Gryniewicz to make the score 5-3. 
  • The Rams tied the game in the third after an error allowed 2 runs to score. 
  • A 2 run double off the bat of Adam Budorick helped push across Cal Caruso and Drew Gryniewicz to push the Lynx back into the lead at 7-5. 
  • A Costello single brought the game back to within 1 in the fourth. 
  • Over the next three innings, the Lynx bats went off. Caruso would drive in 4 of his 5 RBIs along with 2 more coming from James Brandon before being capped off by a Jesus Moscat walk to drive in a run, making the score 17-6 Lynx. 
  • Despite the run scored in the seventh by the Rams, a Cal Caruso triple capped the game at its final score of 19-7. 

 

Lynx Highlights:

  • Logan Watts recieved his first win on the mound as a Lynx, going 5 innings and striking out 3. 
  • James Brandon went 3-3 at the plate, driving in 2. 
  • Jake Samela went 3-5 on the day, scoring 4 times. 
  • Drew Gryniewicz went 4-6, scoring twice while also driving in 2.
  • Cal Caruso went 3-5 on the day with a triple and 5 runs batted in. 
  • Jesus Moscat reached base 3 of his 5 plate appearances, driving in 1 while scoring once.
  • The relief group of Kolten Moyen, Dylan Langston, Nate Trudnich and Patrick Teasdale went 4 combined innings without allowing an earned run while striking out 6. 

 

The Lynx (5-6) move on to conference play this weekend, taking on conference foe ENC on Friday, March 24th. First pitch is set for 7pm.
