Women's Soccer: Falcons blanked by Mass Maritime, 1-0

BUZZARDS BAY, MASS. - The Fisher Women's Soccer team dropped a contest this afternoon to Mass. Maritime, 1-0 at Clean Harbor Stadium. The loss sends the Falcons to 6-8-1 for an overall record. Maaa. Maritime slides to 2-7-3 in their season.

The offensive effort for the Falcons was led by sophomore Kelly Wallace (Hanover, Mass.) with 4 shot attempts. Following her was freshman Ariana Artavia (Dallas, Georgia) and Iliana Fernandez (Hesperia, Calif.) with 2 shot attempts each. Fisher's defense was led by sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa) with 7 saves in her 90 minutes of play.

The Buccaneers offense was led by senior Jackie Damery (Plympton, Mass.) having the only goal of the game in the 29th minute of the game. The goal was assisted by senior Julia Podchaiski (Wallingford, Conn.). The defensive effort for Mass. Maritime was led by sophomore goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz (Tolland, Conn.) with 4 saves in her 90 minutes in the win.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this weekend. Fisher will be hosting Washington Adventist At Hormel Stadium in a conference game on Sunday starting at 11am. Mass. Maritime will be playing at Bridgewater State on Saturday with a noon start time.
