A total of 737 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2014 All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Westfield State Leads 2014-15 Howard C. Smith Cup Standings
After the conclusion of the fall regular season, Westfield State has the lead in the first round of the Howard C. Smith Cup standings. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the 15 league championship sports.

Framingham State Wins ECAC Women's Soccer DIII New England Title
Framingham State University women's soccer team has won the 2014 Eastern Conference Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Div. III Women's Soccer Championship in penalty kicks over The University of New England. Rams junior goalkeeper Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) was named the tournaments' most outstanding player after stopping two attempts and netting her own attempt in penalty kicks of the championship game Saturday afternoon. The Rams and The University of New England played to a 0-0 draw however, Framingham State won the penalty kick tie-breaker and were crowned champions.

Junior Alicia Macomber potted the game-winning marker in the 52nd minute as she helped lift top-seeded Worcester State to a 1-0 triumph over #2 Westfield State in the MASCAC Tournament Championship this afternoon at Coughlin Field.
