A total of 737 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2014 All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Isabela DeSouza of Framingham State and Sarah Sypek of Westfield State have been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Soccer All-Stars as announced by the league.

Fitchburg State, MCLA and Massachusetts Maritime women's soccer teams were recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their outstanding sportsmanship on the field by receiving five or less yellow and zero red cards during the 2014 season.

Massachusetts Maritime goalie Katie Levesque and Worcester State forward Alicia Macomber have earned National Soccer Coaches Association of American All-New England honors as announced by the organization.

Junior Alicia Macomber of Stoughton made steady progress during her first two seasons with the Worcester State University women's soccer team. She scored four goals with 12 points as a freshman in 2012 and improved to nine goals and 20 points as a sophomore a year ago.

The MCLA and Worcester State women's soccer teams have been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their academic success during the 2013-14 season.

Westfield State senior midfielder Sarah Sypek has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America ® team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Eight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference have been named to their respective sports 2014 Capital One Academic All-District teams as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

After the conclusion of the fall regular season, Westfield State has the lead in the first round of the Howard C. Smith Cup standings. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the 15 league championship sports.

Framingham State's Brini Varetimos is the final MASCAC women's soccer weekly award winner after leading her team to the ECAC Women's Soccer DIII New England title game.

Framingham State University women's soccer team has won the 2014 Eastern Conference Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Div. III Women's Soccer Championship in penalty kicks over The University of New England. Rams junior goalkeeper Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) was named the tournaments' most outstanding player after stopping two attempts and netting her own attempt in penalty kicks of the championship game Saturday afternoon. The Rams and The University of New England played to a 0-0 draw however, Framingham State won the penalty kick tie-breaker and were crowned champions.

Fitchburg State, which is making its third NCAA appearance, was one of only two teams to beat Nichols this season. That 3-2 victory on Oct. 1 isn't what got the Falcons season going, however. Their four-game losing streak that immediately followed did.

The Framingham State Rams and Westfield State Owls have moved on to the semifinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Soccer Tournament after winning their respective quarterfinal games on Wednesday.

Worcester State will travel to Rochester, NY and play Nazareth in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament at 11 AM on Saturday, November 15.

Junior Alicia Macomber potted the game-winning marker in the 52nd minute as she helped lift top-seeded Worcester State to a 1-0 triumph over #2 Westfield State in the MASCAC Tournament Championship this afternoon at Coughlin Field.
