Springfield College Leads After Day 1 of MASCAC Men's Golf Championship
After the first day of competition, Springfield College is leading at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship hosted by Springfield at Wachusett Country Club.
West Boylston, Mass.--After the first day of competition, Springfield College is leading at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship hosted by Springfield at Wachusett Country Club.
The Pride combined to shoot a 300 on Saturday and has a six-stroke lead on Westfield State, which is in second with a 307. Salem State sits in third with a 309, followed by Worcester State (328), Elms (331), Mitchell (334), Dean (354), MCLA (366), and Eastern Nazarene (381).
Leading the field was Springfield’s Mike Strong who finished even on the day with a score of 72, following Strong was his teammate Jake Raichle. Salem State’s Max Emmerich, Westfield State's Matteo Godek and Mitchell's Nick Knisel all tied for third with a score of 74 and two over par.
The second round begins tomorrow, October 6 at 10:30 AM. The leaders tee off at 12:40 PM.
