MASCAC Welcomes Five New Men's Golf Affiliates to Conference

The five affiliate members that join the four members of the MASCAC are Eastern Nazarene College, Elms College, Mitchell College, Springfield College and Dean College (2019-2020). They along with MCLA, Salem State, Westfield State and Worcester State will compete for the MASCAC Men's Golf Championship on October 5-6 at Wachusett Country Club hosted by Springfield College.
"I am very excited to announce the expansion of our men's golf sponsorship with the addition of our men's golf affiliates this Fall.," said Commissoner Baumann. "The MASCAC has been working to elevate men's golf. We look forward to providing an outstanding student-athlete experience during the MASCAC Men's Golf Championship this October."
With the addition of the five affiliate members, the MASCAC will begin a two-year wait for the NCAA automatic qualifier. The conference will be eligible with the AQ during the 2021-2022 season.
During last year's MASCAC championship, Westfield State took home the title in a tie-breaker, recording a team score of 319 on the day, the same score as Salem State, who finished in second. The Lancers finished with a score of 334, followed by Western Connecticut State (363) and MCLA (393).
Westfield State's Matteo Godek and Salem State's Eric Powers finished as co-medalists, each shooting 77s on the day to finish five-over par.
