MCLA's Benoit Named ECAC Division III New England Baseball Player of the Week
After earning the MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week, MCLA's Tyler Benoit was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Player of the Week as announced by the conference.
After earning the MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week, MCLA's Tyler Benoit was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Player of the Week as announced by the conference.
Benoit helped lead MCLA to a 4-2 mark over the last six games of the Florida swing. He batted an impressive .667 (10-15) while driving in seven runs and scoring six times. He currently leads the conference in batting early on and leads the team in home runs, doubles, and RBI.
In a doubleheader sweep of Colby Sawyer, Benoit was a perfect 6-6 with three doubles and four RBI as the Trailblazers handled the Chargers 15-2 and 10-8.
Benoit and the Trailblazers will be taking on Salem State this weekend in the MASCAC opener for both clubs. The Vikings claimed the regular season crown last year.
