Framingham, Mass. - The Pride traveled to Framingham State Wednesday, picking up their first win of the season, 7-0, in a nonconference collegiate women's soccer match at Maple Street Field.

The seven-goal margin of victory is the largest for the Pride since Oct. 4 of last season. With the win, the women's soccer team has beaten Framingham State for the second consecutive season and picked up the third win against the Rams in program history.

Kaylee Francis (Millis, Mass.) led the Pride with five points coming off of a goal and three assists. Alex Maher (Reading, Mass.) scored two goals in the second half, Valerie Gordon (Hudson, N.H.) had a goal and an assist, and Emma Mendes (Pawtucket, R.I.), Emily Lange (Ashland, Mass.), and Payton Fitzgerald (Danielson, Conn.) each added a goal of their own.

The first goal of the game came in the fourth minute when Francis corralled the ball on the left side of the net and passed through the six-yard box to Gordon for the goal.

In the first 10 minutes of the contest, Regis had 12 shots, six on net. Regis struck a second time after Francis received a long pass, beat her defender, and shot the ball from the left side of the net into the bottom right corner.

Francis again made her presence felt, finding Mendes for the third Pride goal of the game as Francis recorded her second assist at 24:22 into the first half. The Pride went into halftime leading 3-0.

Regis jumped out of the gates in the second half, scoring 31 seconds into the period after a bouncing ball in the box was collected by Gordon, who made the short pass to Francis. Francis then passed to Lange, giving the Pride a 4-0 lead.

Maher put her name on the scoresheet with a goal from the left side of the net that went through the gap between the goalkeeper and post in the 54th minute of the game. Maher scored a second time with a shot from 28 yards out just under five minutes later.

The final goal of the game came off the foot of Fitzgerald after Brianna Gaynor (Peabody, Mass.) crossed the ball into the box to connect with Fitzgerald.

The Pride led the Rams in shots on net, 16-2, and had all eight corner kicks in the contest.

Framingham State (0-2) will return to action Saturday, Sept. 7, playing host to WPI.

Regis (1-1) next plays Saturday, Sept. 7, when they host Lesley for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. They will then be off until Wednesday, Sept. 11, when they play Curry at Regis Stadium.
