DARTMOUTH, Mass. --  Goals by freshman Marissa Jacob (Jefferson, Mass.) and junior Lydia Kinsman (Granville, Mass.) lifted Westfield State to a 2-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over UMass Dartmouth Tuesday evening at Cressy Field.

Jacob gave the visiting Owls (9-5-1) the only tally they would need in the 15th minute of play when she converted a pass from senior Marissa McGue (Quincy, Mass.) from the left side of the net for her fifth goal of the fall, and Kinsman provided an insurance marker with just over 12 minutes remaining in the match with a penalty kick conversion (her ninth tally of the season) to account for the final margin.

Freshman Lauryn Davis (Templeton, Mass.) picked up the win in goal with a five-save effort for Westfield State, while junior Jaimee O'Brien (West Springfield, Mass.) made four first half stops in suffering the setback for the host Corsairs (3-12).  Freshman Katherine Hubbard (Haverhill, Mass.) recorded four second half saves for UMass Dartmouth, as the Owls outshot the Corsairs by a 24-6 margin overall (10-5 on goal) and held a 17-2 advantage in corner kicks for the contest.

UMass Dartmouth hosts Western Connecticut in a Little East Conference clash on Saturday morning at Cressy Field beginning at 11:00 am, while Westfield State heads to Worcester, Mass. for a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing with Worcester State that begins at Noon.
