Providence, R.I. – The Fitchburg State Women's Soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback to the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College this evening in non-conference action from Alumni Field.

How It Happened
Rhode Island College opened the scoring at the 18:27 mark as senior Kat Carrillo (Central Falls, R.I.) connected on her second tally of the season, firing a shot into the right side of the net for the 1-0 edge.
Fitchburg State nearly knotted the score midway through the frame when freshman Lindsay LeBlond (Candia, N.H) put a shot on target, but Anchorwomen goaltender Erica Edwards (North Kingstown, R.I.) turned aside to preserve the 1-0 margin going into the break.
Following the intermission, Rhode Island College secured the victory in the 68th minute of action with freshman Alexandra Amore (Saunderstown, R.I.) gathering a feed from junior Soleil Galagraza (Pawtucket, R.I.) and connecting on her fourth tally on the year, resulting in the 2-0 final.
