Women’s Basketball Blows Past the Falcons

MIDDLETOWN, CT: Rivier women's basketball took down Fitchburg in non-conference action in the Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament.  

THE BASICS:

- Score: Rivier 95, Fitchburg 65

- Records: Rivier (3-3), Fitchburg (1-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders jumped out to a 26-18 lead after the first quarter. The Falcons would find a groove in the second, putting up 20 points to Riv's ten. The Raiders second half seemed that they couldn't miss as they put up 37 points in the third quarter, following that up with another 22 points in the fourth. Fitchburg only managed to score 27 points in the half.

Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) went off for 33 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists. Anna Stenger (Weare, NH) added 21 points of her own, falling just short of a double-double with nine rebounds. Hannah Muchemore (Nashua, NH) and Rachel Guinn (Clinton, MA) both added 13 points each. Muchemore also contributed seven boards, seven assists, and six steals.

- The Falcons were led by Olivia Almeida with 14 points and four rebounds. Ephemian Bailey and Rylie Harlow both added 13 each in the effort.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rebounds: Rivier 45, Fitchburg 44

-  Assists: Rivier 27, Fitchburg 19

-  Shooting Percentage: Rivier 42.5%, Fitchburg 39.3%
