WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's lacrosse team fell to Johnson & Wales University by a final score of 13-8 Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at John F. Coughlin Field.

With the loss, Worcester State drops to 2-3 overall on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 1-4.

The Lancers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the opening 10 minutes of the contest, thanks to goals from Lily Gendron (Lakeville, Mass.), Kylie Hill (Lunenburg, Mass.), and Abby Magnuson (Ellington, Conn.). The Wildcats, however, responded with seven of the half's final nine goals to take a 7-5 lead into halftime.

Hill scored the first goal of the second half to cut the deficit to one, but JWU responded with three straight goals to take a 10-6 lead with 14:33 remaining, all but putting the contest out of reach. Hill completed the hat trick with under a minute remaining, but the Lancers could not climb out of the hole.
