Women's Basketball loses season finale at Westfield

Westfield, MA- The Westfield State women's basketball team placed four players in double figures and canned a season best 22 three pointers as they rolled past the MCLA Trailblazers 103-59 this afternoon in the regular season finale for both teams.  The Owls (13-12, 10-2 MASCAC) will be the second seed in next week's conference championships.  MCLA (2-21, 0-12 MASCAC) wraps up their season.

The Owls took care of business early in this one as they led 22-12 after one quarter of play before blowing the game wide open on the heels of a 30-10 second quarter.  The Owls led 52-22 at halftime and never looked back.

Melissa Gray and Chelsea Moussette each tallied game best efforts of 21 points apiece.  They each connected on five three pointers while Moussette finished with 8 assists and 6 steals.  Alison Mendel chipped in with 15 points off the bench for the Owls while Alyssa Camara ended with 10.

The Owls shot 39-96 from the floor, but 22-63 from beyond the arc.  They forced 31 MCLA turnovers in the win.

MCLA was paced by Jasmine Pszczola's season best 17 point night.  Maddie Teta added 13 points in the loss.

The game marked the final one in the careers of Erika Ryan, Kylah Langston, and Molleigh Sanes.
