Sean Fleming (Easthampton, N.J.) picked up a goal and two assists to help the Nichols College men's ice hockey team rally from a 3-0 deficit and defeat Plymouth State 6-4 in non-conference action Tuesday night at Levy Rink.

Alex Larson (Madison, Ala.) stopped 35 shots – including 15 in the third period – to earn his second win of the season.
Sophomores Mike Economos (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Tommy Dowell (Olathe, Kan.) each picked up a goal and an assist for the Panthers (0-2-0) while classmate Mac Haight (Sammamish, Wash.) made 41 saves between the pipes. After outshooting Nichols 12-10 in the first period, the Panthers were outshot 35-27 the rest of the way.
The Panthers scored the only goal of the first period and two in the opening 2:06 of the second to grab a 3-0 lead. Dowell's first of the season from Economos at 16:55 of the first was followed by goals from junior Andrew Wigg (Lantz, Nova Scotia) and sophomore Ian McGilvrey (Omaha, Neb.) at 0:58 and 2:06 of the second, respectively.

Kevin Swallow used his team's timeout following McGilvrey's marker, and the Bison responded with two goals in 21 seconds to make it 3-2. Cuthrell's first collegiate goal just nine seconds after the timeout off a feed from Fleming got Nichols on the board before junior
Frank Butler (East Haven, Conn.) potted his first at 2:36 to make it 3-2. Later in the period, Beasley one-timed a pass from senior
Kyle Shapiro (Ambler, Pa.) from the right circle past Haight to pull the Bison even at three.
Fleming banged in the game-winning goal 6:31 into the third with assists going to Cuthrell and senior
Chris Gularte (Salinas, Calif.). Sophomore
Sean Swansen (Salem, N.H.) scored his first of the season at 17:05 to push the Nichols lead to 5-3 before senior
Mike Schiavone (Chicago, Ill.) iced the game with an empty-netter at 19:01.
Each team scored two power-play goals. Haight's record falls to 0-1-0 with the loss.
The Bison open conference play on Saturday with a 4:40 p.m. contest at Curry. The Panthers head to Salem State for a 7 p.m. contest on Thursday.
