Women’s Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw with Becker

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Becker College on Tuesday afternoon at Maple Street Field.

THE BASICS:

- Score: Becker College 1, Framingham State 1 (2 OT)

- Records: Becker College (3-1-1), Framingham State (0-3-1)

Location: Maple Street Field – Framingham, Mass.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Rams had a great chance to score halfway though the first when a Rams player gathered a loose ball after a corner in front of the open net but the chip shot went just over the crossbar.
  • The Hawks got on the board in the 40th minute when Chelsea Sedar (Bridgewater, Mass.) dribbled the ball 20 yards down the right side and sent a strike past the Becker keeper.
  • The Rams answered less than a minute later when Calen Frongillo (Franklin, Mass.) sent a long pass for that was settled by Brooke Fenton (Chicopee, Mass.) and sent from 25 yards out into the top left of the net to knot the game at one.
  • Both sides had opportunities in regulation and overtime but were not able to find the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Olivia Sherwood (Southington, Conn.) made five saves in the match for Becker. Sophomore Madison Brown (Attleboro, Mass.)  made 12 stops in goal for the Rams
  • The Hawks outshot the Rams 22-to-8 and were awarded 10 corners kicks to the Rams 5.

Becker returns to the pitch on Thursday, September 12th when they host Worcester State at 6pm. The Rams will return to action the week of September 16th.
