Men’s Basketball Falls At Home To MCLA

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College men's basketball team dropped a non-conference game to the visiting Massachusetts of Liberal Arts Trailblazers 89-72. The loss puts the Blazers at 3-7 on the season.

The game saw back and forth action for most of the first half. With 8:24 left in the opening frame the Trailblazers would start to pull away, and take a 44-25 lead into the break.

Elms would come out in the second half and try to chip away at the Trailblazer lead, but sharp shooting from the three point line by MCLA would keep them in front, and eventually to a 89-72 win.

DJ Edelen would lead the Blazers with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Kewan Smoot and Jaijuan Macklin would pick up 14 and 11 points respectively.

Elms is back in action on Saturday 12/14 when they host Johnson State University at 1PM at Picknelly Arena.
