DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth men's basketball team posted a 94-84 victory over visiting Bridgewater State University on Monday night at the Tripp Athletic Center.

The Corsairs improve to 6-2 on the season, while the visiting Bears fall to 0-6.

Five players scored in double figures for UMass led by sophomore guard Adam Seablom (Lakeville, Mass.) who tallied a team-best 22 points. Senior forward Harry Alexander (Washington, D.C.) posted a double-double with ten points and 17 rebounds with 11 coming off the offensive glass, while junior guard Jake Ashworth (Fairhaven, Mass.) added 17 points and sophomore forward Sean Leahy (Hanson, Mass.) registered 11 points and nine boards. Sophomore guard Dhalyn Sanders-Dyer (Worcester, Mass.) checked in with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes off the bench.

Senior guard Ryan Carney (Easton, Mass.) and senior forwards Dimitri St. Louis (Brockton, Mass.) and Rayshon Ward (Fayetteville, N.C.) combined for 70 of the Bears' 84 points as they each hit the 20-point mark for the second straight game.

Carney led all players with 29 points, including 19 in the second half, while St. Louis notched 21 points. Ward recorded his third double-double of the season as finished with 20 points and a game-high 18 rebounds (six offensive) to go along with five assists, two steals and two blocked shots.

UMass got up by as many as 17 points (48-31) in the first half and led 50-38 at the break. Seablom scored 12 points in the opening stanza, while St. Louis led all players with 13. The Corsairs shot 50% (21-42) from the floor over the first 20 minutes including 6-for-14 (43%) from behind the arc, while the Bears connected on 48% (15-31) of their field goal attempts.

After Seablom opened the second half scoring with a layup, the Bears went on a 9-0 run to close the gap to five, 52-47. Ward tallied five points during the spurt. The Corsairs answered with six straight points, including a Seablom dunk, to push the lead back up to 11 (58-47) with 15:46 remaining.

Bridgewater got to within six on two separate occasions midway through the stanza including a 67-61 deficit with just under nine minutes left to play. UMass, however, answered with a 9-2 run to go back up by double digits and the Corsairs maintained at least a nine-point advantage the rest of the way.

UMass finished with a 47-32 rebounding advantage, including a 23-10 difference on the offensive glass which led to a 23-13 edge in second chance points. The Corsair bench outscored the BSU reserves by a margin of 26-5.

The Corsairs shot 47.6% (39-82) for the game and went 8-for-22 (36.4%) from behind the arc. The Bears knocked down 51.6% (32-62) of their field goal attempts, but finished just 4-for-15 (26.7%) from three-point range and 16-for-23 (69.6%) at the charity stripe.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday evening when they entertain Dean College at seven. The Corsairs travel to Rhode Island College on Wednesday night for a 7:30 Little East Conference game with the Anchormen.
