No. 6/14 Gulls Set Single Game Home Run Record Against Salem State, 22-3

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 6/14 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team hit a program record seven home runs to defeat Salem State, 22-3, on Tuesday evening at the Central Campus Baseball Field.

WP (1-0): Ryan Walton (Boylston, Mass.) – 1 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
LP (1-2): Jake Usenia (Uxbridge, Mass.) – 2 IP, 8 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Jake Nardone (Wakefield, Mass.) paced the Gulls with a pair of two-run homers, one coming in the first and the other in the second. He finished the contest going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Caleb Shpur (East, Canaan, Conn.), Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.), Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.), John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.), and Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.) all launched solo shots to etch the 2023 squad into the single-game program record book for most home runs (7; previous record 6; 4/2/22 vs WNEU).

The Gulls also set the single-game program record for total bases with 51 total in today's victory (7 HR, 1 3B, 4 2B, 12 1B). The previous school record was 43 (4/2/22 vs WNEU).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls lead the all-time series 18-17-2 (winners of five straight).
  • Endicott improved to 10-4 overall on the road this season.
  • Everyone in the starting lineup had at least one hit for the Gulls.
  • Endicott is outscoring its opponents 223-77 this spring.
  • The Blue and Green have scored in double-digits 10 times this season.

No. 6/14 Endicott (19-4) hosts MIT on Wednesday, April 12 at 3:30 PM. Salem State (6-15) visits Bridgewater State on Friday, April 14 at 3 PM.
