Women's Lacrosse Bests Framingham St., 15-6

PALM BEACH CITY, Fla. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Framingham St., 15-6 on Wednesday night at the Publix Sports Park.

Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.) and Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) both led the way for the Gulls with a hat-trick as Smith recorded three assists for six points. Katie Jones (Franklin, Mass.) and Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.) scored twice, while Ava Amara (Southbury, Conn.)Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.)Gilly Hartt (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Kendal Kelsey (Queensbury, N.Y.), and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) all scored once.

Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) recorded five saves in the win as the sophomore's record improves to 3-3 on the season.

Leading by one at the 5:14 mark of the first quarter, the Gulls rattled off six unaswered goals over the next 17 minutes and 10 seconds of the contest to push their advantage to 9-2. Endicott was powered on the offensive end during the run by Sheehan (x2), Black, Smith, Belleville, and Jones. The Rams added two more goals before the end of the half as Endicott led 9-4 going to the second half.

The Gulls would outscore Framingham St. in the third quarter, 2-0, as the defense forced the Rams offense into four turnovers while causing them to go 2-6 in clear attempts. The fourth quarter saw a similar output from the Gulls offense as they netted four goals to Framingham St.'s two to secure the 15-6 victory.

Endicott (3-3) wraps up its spring break trip when they take on Hope on Thursday, March 20 at 8 PM. Framingham St. (2-4) visits Keene St. on Wednesday, March 26 at 6 PM.
