Women's Soccer can't get offense going in 2-0 loss to Pilgrims

North Adams, MA- New England College's Molly Bieksha scored a pair of goals to lead the visiting Pilgrims past the MCLA Women's Soccer team 2-0 this afternoon at Shewcraft Field.  The Pilgrims up their mark to 5-6 overall.  The Trailblazers dip to 1-8-1 overall.

Bieksha got the scoring started early as she tallied in the 8th minute of play.  She gathered a loose ball off in the MCLA box off a shot from teammate Paxton Couture.  Bieksha would loft a ball into the upper right corner for her fourth goal of the season and a 1-0 lead for the Pilgrims.  The score would remain that way into halftime as the visitors held a 6-2 shot advantage.

NEC would maintain the lead deep into the second half until they finally slipped another one past MCLA keeper Megan Richardson.  It was again Bieksha in the middle of the action.  In the 77th minute, she would corral a great cross from Kayla Paquin for her fifth goal of the season and increase the lead to 2-0.  MCLA wouldn't threaten from there.

NEC outshot MCLA 15-6 in the contest.

Allie Stoddart collected three saves to record the shutout victory as she improves to 4-3 on the season.

Richardson stopped six shots in defeat for MCLA.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Salem State.
