Falcons drop 67-43 decision to Regis College
Fitchburg, Mass. – Women's basketball senior guard Angelina Marazzi (Manchester, NH) became the 12th player in Fitchburg State University history to notch 1,000 points tonight in a 67-43 loss to Regis College in a non-conference match-up tonight at Parkinson Gymnasium.

How It Happened
1st quarter
Regis took a 6-1 margin on a bucket from senior Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) before Fitchburg State cut the lead to 6-4 on a jumper by junior Mishelle Logie (Attleboro, Mass.) and a free-throw from senior Catherine Coppinger (Boston, Mass.). The Pride went on a 7-0 run to end the frame, capped by a Marissa Prall (Hopkinton, Mass.) bucket for the 13-4 advantage.
2nd quarter
Regis extended their margin (22-7) as sophomore Arie Searcy (Santa Rosa, Calif.) connected on a pair of free throws, but the Falcons answered when senior Emma Thomson (York, Maine) drained a three ball to cut the deficit to 22-10. Thomson drilled another trey to the make the score 29-15 before the Pride closed out the first half scoring on a Shannon Kelley (Quincy, Mass.) jumper for the 31-15 edge going into the break.
3rd quarter
Following the intermission, Regis upped its advantage (42-22) going on a 7-4 run, keyed by a trey from Mackenzie Emery (Standish, Maine) before the Falcons responded with a 3-pointer from junior Samantha Maglione (Bolton, Mass.) cut the lead to 44-29.
4th quarter
With an 8-0 run midway through the fourth frame the Pride pushed the lead to 61-38, after. The Green and Gold closed out the game with a pair of free-throws from Marazzi for her milestone, resulting in the 67-43 final.

- Fitchburg State was led by Marazzi with a team-leading 14 points, while Maglione added 9 points off the bench. Senior Catherine Coppinger (Boston, Mass.) had a game-high 12 rebounds.
