Westfield State Wins 2024 MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship
Westfield State completed the trifecta on Friday afternoon winning the 2024 MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Owls also won this year's cross country and indoor track and field titles.

The Owls finished with 201 points over second place team Bridgewater State with 175. Coming in third is Worcester State with 94 with Fitchburg State in fourth with St. 77 and Framingham State in fifth with 63.
Westfield State took home the championship with six individual champs and all three relay crowns. Leading the way was Eliza Lee who had two individual titles in the 800 meter run (2:30.87) and triple jump (11.20m). Rebecca Patel started the day as the 10,000 meter champion in a time of 40:52.87 while Julianne Kelly crossed first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 12:34.09. In the field events, Emily Ottomaniello had the highest clearing in the pole vault at 2.14m. Bronwyn Pinsly was the best in discus with a top throw of 35.82m.
In the 4x100m relay, the quartet of Lee, Ottomaniello, Paige Moroney and Delaney Parker were the first to cross the line with a time of 50.86. Lee and Moroney returned to the track again along with Savannah Campbell and Anjalina Lubarsky in the 4x400m relay to win with a time of 4:16.98. Tealei Chandonnet, Ariann LeCours, Briann LeCours and Molly Kennedy led the Owls to the final relay title in the 4x800m race at 10:26.84.
The Bears finished with nine individual champions on the day. Jailene Escalera and Naomi Cass were both dual winners for the Bears on the day. Escalera came in first in both the 100 (12.19) and 200 (25.32) while Cass crossed the line first in the 1,500 (4:49.27) and 5,000 (18:04.76). Kiara Abrantes earned the MASCAC title in the 400 meter run with a time of 57.50 with teammate Alison McDonough coming in first in the 100 meter hurdles in 14.68.
On the field side, Serenity Sands had the highest clearing in the high jump with a top jump of 1.62m. Charlie Katz and Natalie Kalgren dominated the hammer and javelin throws, respectively. Katz finished with the best throw in the hammer at 38.22m while Kalgren had a personal best throw of 33.33m.
Worcester State had a solid showing on the field side with two individual titles. Ciara Adu-Addo had a season-best leap of 5.50m in the long jump to grab the crown. Jadah Stokes also had a season best mark on Friday in the shot put with a top heave of 11.82m.
Competing at her first MASCAC Outdoor meet, Jamie Moniz of Framingham State crossed the line first in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 1:10.35.
Up next for the MASCAC women's outdoor teams is the New England Division III championship meet at Mount Holyoke College on May 3 and 4.
