MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Report 5/2
The Bridgewater State duo Jailene Escalera and Alison McDonough along with Shea Hamel of Westfield State earn the MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field weekly accolades after competing at the MASCAC Champ Saturday.

Escalera captured the individual titles in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash this past weekend at the MASCAC Championships. Placed first in the 100 with a school-record and finals time of 12.20 seconds and placed first in the 200 with a time of 25.81 seconds. Surpassed her own 100 record of 12.21 seconds set just last week at the Tufts Sunshine Classic. Also ran a leg on the Bears’ MASCAC champion and record-breaking 4x100-meter relay. The foursome posted a time of 47.85 seconds as they previous BSU outdoor standard of 47.95 seconds set in 2016. Helped lead the Bears to their third straight MASCAC title and tenth overall. |

McDonough captured top honors in the long jump at the MASCAC Championships with a school-record leap of 5.55m. Eclipsed the previous standard set by Jayci Andrews in 2016 and equaled by herself in 2022. Also won the MASCAC title in the 100-meter hurdles (14.33) as well as the 4x100-meter relay (47.85) and placed second in the 100-meter dash (12.28). Helped lead the Bears to their third straight MASCAC title and tenth overall. |

Hamel was the leader of the Owls pack at the 5000m, cruising to a first-place tally with a 32-second lead by posting a time of 19:09.47. She also added a fourth-place finish in the 1500m (5:04.79) at the MASCAC Championship meet this past Saturday. |
