MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Report 4/24
Jailene Escalera and Tristen Gomes of Bridgewater State plus Eliza Lee of Westfield State grab the MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors after competing at the Sunshine Classic and Trinity Invitational on Saturday, respectively.

Escalera broke a 42-year old school record in the 100-meter dash to lead the Bears’ to a second-place finish at the Tufts Sunshine Classic. Posted a preliminary time of 12.21 seconds in the 100 as she eclipsed the previous BSU standard of 12.3 seconds set by Fran Ramos in 1981. Won the event with a finals time of 12.31 seconds. Also captured top honors at the meet in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.37 seconds, and ran a leg on the Bears’ first-place 4x100-meter relay (48.64). |

Gomes placed second in the triple jump this past weekend at the Tufts Sunshine Classic with a distance of 11.25m. Came within an inch of the Bears’ school mark. Also finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.02m. Helped the Bears’ post a second-place finish at the meet. |
Women's Outdoor Rookie of the Week |
Lee tallied two top-five tallies in the triple jump (11.01m) and long jump (4.88m) as the Owls competed at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday. Triple jump mark is a personal best. |
