Bridgewater State's McDonough Named to IWLCA All-Berkshire Region Team
Bridgewater State University junior attack Victoria McDonough has been selected to the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-Berkshire Region Team.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior attack Victoria McDonough has been selected to the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-Berkshire Region Team.
A second team selection, McDonough is the Bears' first IWLCA All-Berkshire Region honoree since 2016 and fourth in the last ten years. Lauren Geary '16 earned first team honors in 2016, while BSU Hall of Famer Shannon Manning '10 and Taylor Clancy '14 garnered second team accolades in 2010 and 2014, respectively.
McDonough recorded 52 goals and 43 assists for 95 points in her third season of collegiate competition. The Marshfield. Massachusetts native also had 33 ground balls, 92 draw controls, and 26 caused turnovers.
McDonough ranks 24th in all of Division III in points per game (5.94) and 29th in assists per game (2.69). She also finished second in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in points, assists and draw controls, as well as third in goals and eighth in caused turnovers.
In 69 games over her first three seasons with the Bears, McDonough has amassed 125 goals and 133 assists for 258 points as well as 204 draw controls, 87 groundballs and 60 caused turnover. She ranks fourth all-time at Bridgewater State in both assists and draw controls, and is ninth in scoring.
The BSU women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 12-5, including a 6-1 mark in the MASCAC. Seeded second in the MASCAC Tournament, the Bears dropped a 14-8 decision to third-seeded and eventual conference champion Westfield State University in the tournament semifinals.
