Westfield State's Griffin Headlines 2015 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team
Attacker Meg Griffin of Westfield State has been named the 2015 Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year and headlines this year’s all-conference team in a vote taken of the eight coaches from around the league.

Westfield, Mass. — Attacker Meg Griffin of Westfield State has been named the 2015 Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year and headlines this year's all-conference team in a vote taken of the eight coaches from around the league.
Helping to lead the Owls to a perfect 7-0 MASCAC record and the top seed in the tournament, the junior from Granby, Conn. led the team to their first conference regular season championship while netting 54 goals and 21 assists for 75 points to close out the regular season second the league in total points while tallying 32 ground balls and 73 draw controls.
Brooke Williams of Westfield State has been named the 2015 MASCAC Rookie of the Year. The freshman from Wilbraham, Mass. finished the season with 21 goals and 19 assists to total 40 points with 28 ground balls and 13 draw controls. For helping to lead the Owls to a perfect league record and the number one seed in this week's conference tournament, Jeff Pechulis has been the 2015 Champion's Choice Coach of the Year.
Joining Griffin on the 2015 MASCAC first-team all-conference squad are Bridgewater State's Lauren Geary and Haley Riley, Framingham State's Zoe Reilly, Salem State's Kelsey Russell, Westfield State's Stephanie Lenhardt, Blair Smith, Ashley Spindel and Mimi Khampaeng and Worcester State's Kaila Chase, Jackie Connors and Jackie Lawlor.
The 2015 MASCAC second-team all-conference squad consists of Bridgewater State's Riley Cachelin and Melissa Renauld, Fitchburg State's Andrea Comeau, Lia Crutchfield, Elizabeth Darrigo and Ali Laferriere, Framingham State's Stephanie Leonard, MCLA's Rebecca Pike, Westfield State's Stephanie Godek and Jenn White and Worcester State's Angela Grassetti, and Katelyn Murphy.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2014.
