Clancy Headlines 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team
Midfielder Taylor Clancy of Bridgewater State has been named the 2014 Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year and headlines this year’s all-conference team in a vote taken of the seven coaches from around the league.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Midfielder Taylor Clancy of Bridgewater State has been named the 2014 Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year and headlines this year’s all-conference team in a vote taken of the seven coaches from around the league.
The senior from Braintree, Mass. led the Bears to their second straight conference regular season championship while netting 60 goals and 26 assists for 86 points to lead the league in total points. She added 67 ground balls and 73 draw controls for Bridgwater State who finished with a perfect 6-0 record in conference play.
After having an outstanding rookie campaign for Bridgewater State, Melissa Renauld has been named the 2014 MASCAC Rookie of the Year. The freshman from Framingham, Mass. finished the season with 56 goals and 16 assists to total 72 points, the third best point total in the conference. For helping Worcester State to the second seed in this week’s conference tournament, Deb Draper has been the 2014 Champion’s Choice Coach of the Year.
Joining Clancy and Renauld on the 2014 MASCAC first-team all-conference squad are Bridgewater State’s Lauren Geary and Braylan Wenzel, Salem State’s Kelsey Russell, Westfield State’s Stephanie Lenhardt, Blair Smith, Jen Carew and Mimi Khampaeng and Worcester State’s Kalia Chase, Jackie Connors and Angela Grassetti.
The 2014 MASCAC second-team all-conference squad consisted of Bridgewater State’s Riley Cachelin, Fitchburg State’s Markie Apple, Ali Laferriere and Lindsay White, Framingham State’s Marissa Canfield, Westfield State’s Caroline Smart, Lee Meskevich and Worcester State’s Molly Kilday, Angelina Sutherland, Lea Robichaud, Jaclyn Lawlor and Katelyn Murphy.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation’s first Division III men’s and women’s playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men’s ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
