After having four successful years as a volleyball and basketball student-athlete, Framingham State's Alycia Rackliffe has earned the 2017 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor which is determined by the eight Athletic Directors from around the league.

Rackliffe shined on the court during both the fall and winter season as a member of the Framingham State volleyball and basketball team. The Feeding Hills, Mass. native was a three-time major award winner for volleyball, earning Rookie of the Year in 2013 and back-to-back Player of the Year honors in 2015 and 2016 while also receiving First Team All-Conference accolades all four years.

She was named MASCAC Player of the Week 20 times and ECAC Player of the Week six times while also earning ECAC All-Star honors in 2014 and 2015. She finished her career with 1,781 career kills, a .301 hitting percentage and 368 blocks (168 solo). She helped the Rams to three MASCAC Tournament titles, two regular season championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances. 

In basketball, she was named the 2013-14 MASCAC Rookie of the Year and was named to the All-Conference Second Team in 2013-14 and first team twice, 2015-16, 2016-17. Along with MASCAC Rookie of the Year, she was the D3hoops.com Northeast Rookie of the Year. Her junior and senior seasons, she earned ECAC DIII New England All-Star honors. 

Rackliffe concluded her basketball career with 1,215 points, fourth on the Framingham State all-time scoring list. She also collected 946 rebounds (664 defensive), 294 blocks and 134 steals. To close out her career, she competed in the New England Women's Basketball Association Senior All-Star game. 

Graduating in May, Rackliffe obtained a bachelor's degree in food science and chemistry with a minor in nutrition and concentration in applied food science. She earned a 3.69 GPA and was a member of the Framingham State Dean's List every semester and President's List six semesters. She was named to the MASCAC All-Academic team 11 times as a fall and winter student-athlete. 

When she was competing or in class, Rackliffe served as a MetroWest Special Olympics volunteer for three years. She also participated in the Framingham Cameron Middle School EPAL program where she coordinated student-athletes to serve as EPALs with students at the school while serving as one herself.

Outside of campus, she worked with Guiding Eyes fostering a German Shephard puppy to get the dog ready for being a guide dog. The dog lived with her during the school year and back home over the course of a year while she trained it. This spring, she completed an internship with Table Talk Pies.

The MASCAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year has been awarded annually since 1980 to a student-athlete who has excelled in both the classroom and field of play while maintaining at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average through their last year of athletic eligibility.
