MASCAC Softball Weekly Awards 5/6
Worcester State's Emma Lanpher, Westfield State's Stephanie Scoville and Salem State's Samantha Gaona earn the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week accolades as we head into the tournament this week.

Player of the Week |
Lanpher batted .538 (7-13) with two doubles, a triple, five RBI, two walks, stolen base and three runs scored with a .600 on-base percentage and .846 slugging percentage in a 3-1 week for the Lancers. Went 5-for-7 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored and four RBI in the doubleheader sweep of Mass. Maritime. Finished with two hits and a RBI in the 5-4 win over Wellesley. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Scoville went 1-0 with a save over 10 innings, allowing nine hits, two earned runs with 11 strikeouts and four walks. Locked up the MASCAC regular season title and the top seed in the MASCAC Tournament after tossing a complete game, striking out nine and allowing just two runs to pick up her 11th win of the campaign as the Owls defeated Bridgewater State 4-2 to complete the doubleheader sweep. Earned the save in the 4-1 win over Wesleyan (Conn.) striking out two and allowing three hits. |
Rookie of the Week |
Gaona batted .750 (6-for-8) with five stolen bases in a 3-0 week for the Vikings. Went 2-for-2 with a walk and run scored in a 2-0 victory over Lesley. She went a combined 4-for-6 with four stolen bases, a run and RBI in a doubleheader sweep of MCLA. |
