Kerrin McLaughlin of Bridgewater State, Sarah Cahill of Fitchburg State and Olyvia Mendonca of Framingham State earn the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week accolades as the regular season wrapped over the last week.

McLaughlin went 4-for-5 with a stolen base, hit by pitch, two sacrifice bunts, three runs and an RBI in the Bears’ MASCAC sweep of Westfield State to earn the second seed in the tournament. Banged out three hits, stole a base, scored two runs, drove in one and recorded a sacrifice bunt in a 7-6 game two win over the Owls. Was hit by a pitch, recorded a sacrifice bunt and scored a run in a 6-1 victory in the opener. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Cahill allowed one unearned run on six hits with nine strikeouts over seven innings of work, while going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI, including the game winning walk-off two run double in a 2-1, game one triumph over Framingham State on Saturday. With her nine K’s, eclipsed the 200 career strikeout mark. |
Rookie of the Week |
Mendonca threw a complete game two hitter allowing two unearned runs and striking out three in the Rams’ 5-2 win over Fitchburg State. |
