The Westfield State duo of Christina Ciampa and Stephanie Scoville claim the MASCAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week while Sydney Rodriguez of Salem State is Rookie of the Year after collecting non-conference victories last week.

Ciampa hit .600 (6-10) with six RBI, five runs scored, a double, a home run and three walks with a .714 OBP and a 1.000 slugging percentage in a 4-0 week for the Owls. Went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, two walks and three runs scored in the doubleheader sweep of Gordon. Was also 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI, a walk and two runs scored in the doubleheader sweep of Elms. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Scoville threw two complete games, going 2-0 over 12 innings with a 2.33 ERA, 13 hits allowed, four earned runs, 12 strikeouts and two walks in a 2-0 week for the Owls. Twirled a complete game shutout, only giving up one hit with eight strikeouts in the five-inning 8-0 win over Elms. Pitched a complete game, allowing four earned runs while scattering 12 hits and two walks, and struck out four in an 11-8 win over Gordon. |
Rookie of the Week |
Rodriguez batted .643 (9-for-14) with an .857 slugging percentage in a 2-2 week for Salem State. The freshman had three doubles, five runs scored and four RBI, including a 5-for-8 effort with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI in a doubleheader sweep over New England College. |
