Framingham State Claims Back-to-Back MASCAC Softball Tournament Crowns
Gwendolyn Carpenter was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI as top-seeded and host Framingham State captured its second straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) tournament championship with a 10-2 five inning win over second-seeded Bridgewater State.
Framingham, Mass. – Gwendolyn Carpenter was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI's as top-seeded and host Framingham State captured its second straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) tournament championship with a 10-2 five inning win over second-seeded Bridgewater State.
Ally Moran (21-5) went the distance allowing three hits and one earned run while walking one and fanning two to get the win and earn tournament MVP honors. She was 3-0 and allowed just one earned run in 15 innings and struck out nine in the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gwendolyn Carpenter's towering two-run homer to center highlighted a three-run first inning as Framingham took the early 3-0 lead. It was her team leading eighth home run of the season.
- Pinch runner Victoria Becker scored on a throwing error and Molly Thibaudeau followed with an RBI double to center to make the score 3-2.
- Keely Scotia tripled to right and scored on a single by Angelina Lynch as the Rams got one back in the home half of the second.
- Camille Desrochers' three-run double in the left center gap extended the lead to 7-2 in the fourth. Carpenter added an RBI double and Talia Duca pushed the lead to 9-2 with an RBI single as the Rams scored five times in the fourth.
- Makayla Rooney's single scored Scotia in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
- Rooney and Lynch each had two hits for the Rams.
- Amelia Blake had two of Bridgewater State's three hits.

Framingham State earns the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament and pairings and location will be announced on Monday.
