Shannon Grindle from Bridgewater State takes home the first MASCAC Softball Player of the Week award, brought to you by GEICO. The Fitchburg State pair of Emma Campbell and Olivia Pietersen earn the Pitcher and Rookie of the Week awards.

Shannon Grindle Batted .636 (7-for-11) with a double, a run and two RBI in the Bears’ first four games of the season at The Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. Also walked twice as she posted a .692 on-base percentage. Went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in a 9-5 season-opening win over Roger Williams. Also went 2-for-2 at the plate in a 9-0 loss to Juniata, 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a 4-2 setback to Catholic, and walked twice in a 9-3 loss to Washington College. |

Emma Campbell Posted an ERA of 2.21 with three strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work over two contest. Earned the win in a 9-6 victory over Albertus Magnus after giving up three hits with two stikeouts in 3.1 innings of scoreless relief before allowing two runs on six hits with one strikeout in three innings of relief in a 5-4 setback to Iowa Wesleyan in the night cap on Sunday. |

Olivia Pietersen Batted .500 (2-for-4) with two runs scored, one walk and one RBI in her first two collegiate games. Finished 1-for-1 with her first collegiate hit as well as one run scored, one RBI, and a walk in a 9-6 win over Albertus Magnus, while adding one hit and one run scored in a 5-4 setback to Iowa Wesleyan in the night cap on Sunday afternoon. |
