MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards 4/16
After competing at their respective meets Saturday, Westfield State's Gordon Johnson and Nathan Sylven plus Fitchburg State's Liam Bourassa take home the MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field weekly awards.

Johnson ran 1:58.70 in winning the 800 meters at the Jerry Gravel Invitational meet at Westfield State on Saturday. |

Bourassa took top honors in the javelin (64.91m), while placing second in the discus (46.02m) to qualify for All-New Englands in both events as well as finishing fifth in the hammer throw (49.12m) and fifth in the shot put (13.57m) to qualify for DIII NE’s in the hammer throw and shot put for the Falcons at the 2024 Silfen Invite over the weekend. Moved into second nationally in the javelin. |
Men's Outdoor Rookie of the Week |
Sylven finished in the top three in all three of his events at the Jerry Gravel Invitational. Started the meet with the 3000 meter steeplechase where he placed second with a personal-best time of 9:49.27. Finished third in the 1500 meters with another PR time of 4:21.84 and came in second in the 500 meters with a time of 16:18.14. |
