Posted a pair of top six finishes in sprinting events for the Lancers in their first meet of 2019. Placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.78 and sixth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.261.
William Canty
Westfield State
Junior • South Grafton, Mass.
Set the Owls’ school record in the heptathlon, finishing second at the Harvard University multi-event meet on Friday and Saturday. Scored 4,582 points, improving upon his own mark of a year ago. Was the only DIII competitor at the meet. Placed second overall with second-place performances in the shot put in the shot put, the 60 hurdles, the pole vault and the 1000 meter run. Threw a personal best in the shot put (12.56m/41’2.5”) and a collegiate best leap of 5’10” (1.78m) in the high jump.
