Westfield State Wins Third Straight MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Crown
The Westfield State Owls have won their third straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday on the campus of UMass Dartmouth.

The Westfield State Owls have won their third straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday on the campus of UMass Dartmouth.
The Owls claimed 247 points while Worcester State landed in second with 183 points. Bridgewater State was next in third with 128 points. Rounding out the team standings were Fitchburg State and Massachusetts Maritime in fourth and fifth with 84 and six points, respectively.
Westfield State took home six individual titles and a relay. Travon Godette earned top honors in the high jump (2.08m/6' 9.75") a conference best and javelin (65.17m/213' 10"). Esteafan Jack crossed the line first in the 400 meter dash (49.21) while Kenneth Parece earned the conference 1,500 meter run (4:02.43) crown. John Latour broke the MASCAC record in the long jump (7.21m/23' 8") while Patrick Delisle took the top spot in the pole vault 4.25m (13' 11.25"). The Owls 4x800 relay team of Jonathan Kelland, Justin Halley, Conner Gottzmann and Parece grabbed the MASCAC crown with a time of 8:07.57.
Bridgewater State won six individual titles and the final two relays. Andrew Couture was the 100 meter dash (10.96) champion and ran a leg on the 4x100. Josh Goehring grabbed a MASCAC title in the 800 meter run (1:53.55) while Conor Murtagh and Kevin Sawyer earned a conference championship in the 110 meter hurdles (14.70) and 400 meter hurdles (55.32), respectively. Joe Keough crossed the line first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:57.81) and Cameron Williamson leaped his way to the MASCAC crown in the triple jump (13.50m/44' 7.50"). The 4x100 relay team for the Bears of Couture, Murtagh, Williamson and Alex Goss won first place in the league with a time of 42.85 while the Bears also took home the conference title in the 4x400 (3:20.56).
Worcester State's four individual winners was lead by Sam Weeks who was a triple threat finishing first in the shot put (15.28m/50' 1.75"), discus (45.03m/147' 9") and hammer throw (51.32m/ 168' 4"). Duy Truong claimed the 200 meter dash (23.08) title.
Rounding out the individual winners was Brian Amaral from Fitchburg State. Amaral was a dual winner in the 5,000 meter run (15:21.79) and 10,000 meters (32:07.77).
Along with the MASCAC title, Westfield State was named the New England Alliance Champion which is the overall team champion between the MASCAC and Little East schools. The Owls finished with 157 points with Southern Maine in second at 146.
